We sold our house in March
(it was a whirlwind move and only had one week to pack)
and have been living in a hotel waiting to find the right home.
This weekend we moved into our new place.
This home is a big fixer upper at the end of a court,
in a very nice neighborhood with Tudor style custom homes
and extra large lots. Our house happens to be the one
"Malcolm in the Middle" home of the neighborhood
since it's been vacant for 2 years.

I think the neighbors must have been excited to see someone finally
bought this home to rehab it.........
that is until they saw me unload my brood of 4 fighting whining kids.
When Luke saw this neighbor's home a few houses down from us,
his mouth literally dropped open and gasped.
His scooter fell to the ground while he stood there in awe,
calling for his sisters to come take a look at this one.
This kid is really into fancy things.
While unpacking the car, I let the kids take their bikes out and ride around the street.
This is something they have never been able to do
since our previous homes were not on courts.
I have never seen our kids this kind of happy.
As she was riding up and down the court beaming
Lainey said "Oh Mom, I feel like a kid for the first time!"
Isabelle had the biggest smile from ear to ear
as she rode up and down the street.
She suddenly jumped off her bike,
ran over to give me a huge hug and said,
"Thank you so much Mommy."
Ahhh, it was the best Mothers Day gift I could ask for. :)
I must admit I will miss the hotel simple life.
Living at this beautiful Hyatt Hotel was actually kind of nice.
We had free internet and utilities, heated pool and hot tub,
free fitness center, and best of all I didn't have to cook or clean!
And at $45 a night via Priceline, it was much less than paying our mortgage.
I even held Luke's birthday party at the pool here and we had the
whole place to ourselves!
I was a little sad to say goodbye to our cozy hotel today, but
excited for this new chapter in our life. :)
Lori, I love to chat about homeschooling. You should call me sometime. 417-894-830one We do a program called Classical Conversations. You can see if they have it in your area. They have a parent practicum each summer and it is wonderful! I learned so much about my children's brains and how to teach and really enjoyed it. I also love meeting other moms who homeschool so I can get advice from them and find out what works in their home. I am so excited for you!
