Carpe Diem

One of my favorite indulgences is a large glass of ice cold Cherry Coke. 

If we go out to eat, or to the movies, I have to have one.   

Once in a while I'll buy a liter for home because the caffeine helps 

with the swelling behind my eye and sinus headaches.  

Whenever Isabelle catches me drinking it, she will beg and beg for a sip.

I always have to tell her

"just for Mommy.  It's Mommy's medicine."   

The other day I had poured a full glass and put it up 

high on the counter while I went back in my room

to do some laundry.   When I came out,

Isabelle was up on the bar stool frantically slurping that glass of Coke down 

as fast as she could and took a quick breath to say:  

"I'm sick Mommy, I'm sick"

and went right back to guzzling it.
(she wasn't sick)

I'm always entertained by this
  2 year old

and her clever attempts to manipulate.  :D   

She had even grabbed her own straw before climbing up 

to seize the moment when Mom wasn't looking.
