Trick or Treat

Halloween Day was packed full of activities.
First, Baila had a birthday party to attend,
and after that we drove to Papa's for trick or treating.

Luke age 7, Baila age 5,  Lainey age 8,
Isabelle age 2, and Ethan age 3.

Isabelle loves to visit her Papa

off to the church carnival

trunk or treating at our old Ward.
It was fun to see so many
of the same families I've grown up with.

Anytime Isabelle found a dog, candy became meaningless to her.

Next we headed to my brother's house for dinner and
trick or treating in his neighborhood.
It's become a tradition for us to go there each year
so the cousins can be together.

I loved Lindsey and Eric's bun in the oven costume.
She's due next month with a baby girl.

After trick or treating, Isabelle took out her candy
and began counting
"1, 2, 3, 4 ,5......." just like her siblings.

Little Marlee had the funniest costume.
I would crack up everytime I saw
the back of her long Vampiress dress dragging behind as she walked.
She's only one year old and looked so grown up in this outfit.

  Lance.
  O.M.G.
He actually shaved his head for this costume.

He said his inspiration came from the movie Tropic Thunder but all I could think of was Megan's Law.

My favorite part of Halloween is watching all the kids run from house to house with such exuberance.

There was nothing cuter than to hear Isabelle say "tick or tweet" and "thank you!" at all the houses.   I don't want her to grow up.

The funniest part of trick or treating with Isabelle was
watching her spit with anger at anything scary looking.

I came down with a virus on Halloween. :(   I was not going to let anything stop me from watching my kids trick or treat, so I took the sinus meds and pushed through it.

Baila had been really grumpy the whole time we were at the church carnival trunk or treating. Not the best example from CTR woman.  When people came up to talk with her about the costume, she would roll her eyes in annoyance and turn away.
She's a little spit fire normally, so it was hard to know if this was just Baila being Baila or an illness coming on.
We finally figured out what was wrong with her after sitting down for dinner when she wouldn't even eat her candy.    She had a 102 degree fever by the time we got home.

Our illnesses notwithstanding, it was a really fun day!

  1. I'm still laughing at what you said about Lance's costume! They are all so cute, I wish we could have been there. I was really disappointed in my kids. After about 5-6 houses, Grady said he had enough candy and was ready to be done (we were going to a friend's house after so that may have contributed). Even still though, when we were kids I trick or treated until there was no tomorrow.

  2. Hi Tawna,
Wish you could have seen Lance passing out candy to the little kids when they rang the doorbell.
I'll bet there were parents who googled the Megan's Law website when they got home. ;)

The funniest thing was that Stacey took him like that to a Halloween Party the night before. Her friends that hadn't met him before didn't know it was a costume, so Stacey was really embarrassed. LOL

  3. Tawna, Grady is the funniest kid.
You have got to start a blog just so we can hear all your Gradyisms.
I can't imagine a kid saying "I'm done" when it comes to collecting candy!

  4. It was great seeing all of the other trick or treaters parents checking out Lance and wondering if he was in costume or always looks that way. I love the holidays with my big fam...fun times!
