One of our favorite places to visit in October is the Bishop's Pumpkin Patch in Wheatland.
They have the best homemade pies, and their awesome apple cider is fresh from the orchard.
There are so many fun things to do that it's hard to leave!
We started our day at 10am and didn't leave until 6pm. We were all exhausted.
Travis opted out of coming on this trip (Disneyland did him in for a while) so I took my Mom. Tami and Joe met us there so Ethan could have his favorite playmates. It is so cute to see how his face lights up the minute he finds his cousins.
Saturday was the only time we could all go together, and it's the first time I have gone there on a weekend.
The place was packed!

Nana paid for Isabelle to take her first pony ride.
After catching her trying to ride a toy horse, we figured it was time to try the real thing.
she was all smiles!
Boy did she love that pony. His name was "Johnny."
Poor "Johnny" looks terrified here!
Next we took the hay ride to pick out our pumpkins.
Luke was on the hunt
my sister Tami with Ethan and her husband Joe. They are due with #2 in December.
I thought they picked out the coolest pumpkins. Lainey's looked like it dropped from Outer Space.
Luke's had this beautiful black netting design all over it that looked like an intricate spider web,
and Baila chose the white one. Isabelle found a very cute little orange pumpkin later on that day that she really wanted.
I was very surprised that all the pumpkins were priced by width. We saw one guy with a HUGE pumpkin and he only had to pay $7 because it had a more narrow shape. Most of the pumpkins were only two to four dollars. I will never buy my pumpkins anywhere else. One year we went to a place that charged by weight and had to pay a fortune.
Lainey is always writing stories and loves to document everything on our outings. Future journalist?
On this trip, she was taking notes of all the food menus and activities. When I was trying to recall information for this post, Lainey said "Hold on, I will go get my notes."
The last few years all her teachers have mentioned that she shows a great passion for writing and that we need to nurture that.
The kids loved jumping on the trampoline of straw.

The petting zoo is a great place for the kids to hug and give love to lots of goats.
Isabelle was squealing with excitement to touch all those animals. She was very gentle with them.

If it looks like Isabelle has wet hair, it's because we were sweating in the heat.
It was almost 90 degrees the day we went.
She thought I didn't see her trying to climb onto the sheep.
This donkey totally snubbed us.
There's the fun train on it's way toward us!
Happy Halloween!
